Cyber Stalking

I was cleaning out some really old files today and came across this scrap of pseudo-poetry I wrote many many years ago.

Stalking My Ex

Your address...your phone...

I find these details online.
Oh-I see you moved.
Bigger house, it must be nice.

Your wife got a promotion.

You must be proud.

Facts-details-data. And I still don't know a thing.

What I really want to know-

Are you happy?

Sad. Creepy.

Gumbo Time!

I was made to feel bad (but not feel badly, for that would be grammatically incorrect) about my lack of updating my blog. I suck at being a blogger. Maybe I can come up with ONE fun, unusual or interesting thing each week to blog about.

Here's some photos of gumbo night. This is from several months ago - but, dayum!, that was good stuff!

Some of the ingredients (aka "before"): okra, onion, boudin & smoked sausage, celery, green onion, red & green pepper. Mistake: I removed the boudin from it's casing and it just fell apart. Used it anyway - good flavor.

The cooking process (aka "during"): browning the okra in the oven before adding to the pot - yummy!

The completed meal (aka "after")! Although red wine is a tasty beverage accompaniment, a cold, cold Abita works great!

And now, a coda: here are the left-overs, ready to go in the freezer. The empty pot is on its side.

Great sentences

Found this great sentence in Time mag-

"And suddenly this was not over."

Tragedy in Blacksburg, Nancy Gibbs. 4/30/07

Wow - that's been bouncing around in my head all evening.

Risk Grrrl

I've just read the bio of a cool woman, Lucille Rehm Sealander. Her son describes her as "The First Grrrl".

Lucille wrote this:
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas & dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.

Cool, cool, cool.
